The Opp Lady Bobcats jumped on the T.R. Miller Lady Tigers early and held on for a 12-3 victory in the semi-final round of the area tournament.

Graci Kidd started the game off strong in the pitching circle as she sat down the T.R. Miller batters in order.

In the bottom of the first, Morgan Pierce drew a one-out walk, Ariyon Hightower was hit by a pitch and Sara Ballard reached off an error to load the bases with Lady Bobcats.

Maggie Short then ripped a line drive into center that scored Pierce from third.

A fielder’s choice and error off the bat of Kidd allowed Ballard to score for a 2-0 Opp lead.

Another pair of error from T.R. Miller led to another run for the Lady Bobcats in the opening inning.

The Lady Tigers battled back and scored a run off a single. More runs could have scored, but a nice play by Morgan Johnson on a high throw to first ended the T.R. Miller threat.

Bailee Boyd drew a one-out walk to start the bottom of the second inning and then back-to-back fielder’s choices from Pierce and Hightower loaded the bases for the Lady Bobcats.

Ballard then singled in Boyd for a 4-1 Lady Bobcat lead.

A pair of errors off the bat of Short pushed across Pierce and Hightower.

Kidd then laid down a bunt single that scored a run to give the Lady Bobcats a 7-1 advantage.

T.R. Miller picked up two runs off a double in the top of the fourth inning to cut Opp’s lead down to 7-3.

The Lady Bobcats got one of those runs back in the bottom of the fourth inning when Short drove in Hightower off a fielder’s choice to third.

Kidd retired the Lady Tigers in order in the top fifth inning to keep the score at 8-3.

In the bottom of the sixth inning, Boyd led off the inning with a walk and immediately stole second and third.

Pierce followed with a single that scored Boyd with ease.

Hightower then drew a walk and Short followed with a triple to the gap in left center to score Hightower and Pierce.

A single from Kidd then gave the Lady Bobcats a 12-3 lead.

The Lady Bobcats held off the Lady Tigers in the final frame to earn a spot in the championship game.
