An Andalusia man was in a three-vehicle accident Friday on Perdido Key Drive in Escambia County, Fla.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 2008 Chevy 2500, driven by Matthew Willis, 36, of Pensacola, was traveling east on Perdido Key Drive and was approaching Gulfview Lane.

Tanner Brooks, 35, of Andalusia was driving a 2009 F150 and Caleb Skelton, 18, of Pensacola was driving a 1997 Ford Escort. Both Brooks and Skelton were traveling wet on Perdido Key Drive just past Gulfview Lane.

Skelton was driving behind Brooks.

Crash Investigator Trooper Durham said in his report that Willis’s vehicle drifted into the westbound lanes, and struck Brooks’ vehicle’s left side.

He continued traveling in an easterly direction in and struck the left side of the trailer Brooks was pulling, eventually striking the front-end of Skelton’s car.

Durham’s report said that Willis’ vehicle wound up facing a westerly direction on the north side of Perdido Key Drive, while Brooks was driven to the north shoulder of the road and Skelton was facing the southern direction on the north side of the road.

Willis received minor injuries and was taken to Baptist Hospital; Brooks received no injuries; and Skelton received serious injuries and was taken to Baptist Hospital.
