She will continue with her current responsibilities, which include oversight of ICU nursing services, but also be responsible for inpatient dialysis and the hospitalist service.

“I am very pleased that Angie has agreed to accept the expanded responsibilities,” said Andalusia Health CEO, John Yanes. “She has demonstrated very strong clinical and leadership skills, which has gained her the respect of her peers, physicians and our patients.”

Andalusia Health is expanding its inpatient capabilities to include inpatient dialysis to stay true to its commitment of keeping patients close to home for care. In order to improve the coordination of inpatient care, Andalusia Health has combined the physician management of emergency medicine and the hospitalist program to a single group. Ms. Barnes will be responsible for the clinical coordination of these two new service lines.

“It is my pleasure to serve my hometown community at Andalusia Health,” Barnes said. “I look forward to the leading the addition of new services to enhance our patient experience in the inpatient setting.”

Barnes earned her bachelor of science in nursing from Troy University in 1993.

When not at work, Barnes likes to spend time with three children, Victoria, Gavin and Libby. She enjoys painting and gardening. The beach is one of her favorite places to relax and enjoy nature.
