County schools address year-end personnel issues

In addition to naming Donny Powell principal at Straughn High School, the Covington County Board of Education on Tuesday addressed a number of other personnel matters.

 

Resignations

The board accepted the following resignations:

• James David Barton as custodian at the central office. He is retiring.

• Heather Langley McLeod as elementary teacher at Red Level.

• Anna B. Watson as lunchroom worker at Red Level.

• Stacey Delaine Joyner as lunchroom worker at Red Level.

• Hailey Jane Elizabeth Stubbs as instructional aide at Straughn Elementary.

• Courtney Dianne Johnson Morre as elementary teacher at Straughn.

• Jeanne Strickland Morgan as elementary teacher at Straughn.

• Shea Alan Supri as math teacher at Straughn Middle School.

 

Hirings

The board hired:

• Josephine Lindsey as special education teacher at Pleaseant Home.

• Kristin Haley Johnson as elementary teacher at Straughn.

• Lorren Ansley Cooper as elementary teacher at Straughn.

• Misty Woodham as special education teacher at Straughn Elementary.

 

Transfers

The board transferred:

• Jennifer Fowler Burgans, lunchroom worker, from Straughn Middle to Red Level High School.

• Amber Jean Benzee, lunchroom worker, from Straughn High to Straughn Middle.

• Brandi L. Evans from English teacher at Florala High to social science teacher at W.S. Harlan.

 

The board also:

• Retracted the transfer of Connie Womble Karthaus. She will remain as reading coach at Pleasant Home School.

• Non-renewed Debra LaRose Ham, special education teacher at Straughn.
