Residents of the Union Grove area of Covington County this week have an opportunity this week to help secure grant funding for new water lines in their neighborhood.

Scott Farmer, community development director for Southeast Alabama Regional Planning and Development Commission, said grant projects sometimes earn points for attendance at public hearings, or for letters of support written for projects.

With that in mind, he is holding a public hearing at 6:30 p.m. Thurs., May 26, at the Union Grove Fire Department.

The project mostly serves Fleeta Road and Co. Rd. 72, Farmer said.
