The senior is spending eight weeks off her feet after an April 28th injury in a softball game. Wise suffered a broken leg and ankle, and has plates and pins in place to help the bones mend. She can’t even start physical therapy until July.

But not participating in graduation was never an option.

“I’ve missed some stuff, but we never considered that,” she said.

With her injured leg elevated and propped on a pillow, she wheeled into graduation with the help of her friend and classmate Lily Ritzel. But Wise managed to cross the stage to receive her diploma without assistance.

Wise plans to attend LBW Community College in the fall.
