Claries Edmondson Martin

Claries Edmondson Martin, age 92, passed away June 4, 2016. She was born Feb. 1, 1924, in Covington County to George Edmondson and Sadie Chambers Edmondson. Claries worked for Franklin Ferguson Textile in Florala for more than 20 years. She had a wonderful sense of humor and never met a stranger. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Claries cherished being their “Grandma” and “Nanny.” She was a charter member of Westside Baptist Church and her faith in Jesus Christ sustained her as she fought many health issues. Claries was preceded in death by husbands, Odis Franklin and Doug Martin; son-in-law, Lum Goodman; father, George Edmondson; mother, Sadie Chambers Edmondson; brother, Marvin Edmondson; and sister, Flossie Evans.

She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Goodman of Andalusia; son, Danny Franklin and wife Shelia of Florala; grandson, Dan Goodman; granddaughter, Sadie Franklin; great-granddaughter, Joya Clare Goodman; sisters, Jenell Lassiter and husband Glen, Vilaree Davis and husband Jesse; brothers, Melvin Edmondson, Jermone Edmondson and wife Darlene and Dole Edmondson. She is also survived by an abundance of extended love ones, including numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were Tuesday from Westside Baptist Church in Florala. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery.

Hazel Voncille Pate Bennett Culp

Mrs. Hazel Voncille Pate Bennett Culp, age 92, of Andalusia, passed away Mon., June 6, 2016, at Andalusia Manor.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thurs., June 9, 2016, at New Providence Baptist Church with the Rev. Cleveland Brown officiating the service. Interment will follow in Pleasant Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be 30 minutes prior to services at the church.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Sherry Thomas of Paul, Ala., Brenda Lynn of Pensacola, Fla., Barbara Faye and David Maddox of Fairfield Bay, Ariz., Yvonne Bennett of McKenzie, and Wanda and Rennie Mills of Wetumpka; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren; one great-great-great grandchild; and a sister-in-law, Louise Pate of Florence, Ala.

She is preceded in death by her husband and the father of her children, Guy Bennett; daughter, Theresia Musgrave; granddaughter, Ann Ryan; and grandson, Curtis Grimes.

Pallbearers will include Grady McClain, Jeremy McClain, Garrett McClain, Sandy Lynn, Joshua Jackson, and Travis Pate. Honorary pallbearers are Rennie Mills and Mike Jensen.

The family will accept flowers or memorials may be made to New Providence Baptist Church.

Agnes Edson Craddick

Mrs. Agnes Edson Craddick, 89, of Andalusia, passed away Fri., June 3, 2016, in a Montgomery hospital.

Funeral services were Tues., June 7, from Foreman Funeral Home Chapel. Interment followed in Andalusia Memorial Cemetery. Visitation was Monday at Foreman Funeral Home.

She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Lamar and Nancy Wollum of Thomasville, Ga., Malcomb and Sheila Edson of Lewiston, ID, and Royce and Margaret Edson of Andalusia; six grandchildren, Ashley Wollum, Cathy (Chuck) Cochran, Robert (Diane) Wollum, April Edson, Rachel Edson, and Stacey (Sid) Newby; nine great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; brothers and sister-in-law, Eddie and Sherrill Edson and Wallace Edson; sisters and brothers-in-law, Pauline and Donnie Carter and Linda Jean and George Gorum; brother-in-law, Bill Pate; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Lee and Eveline Edson; husband, William Robert Craddick; brother, Harmon Edson; sisters, Myrtis Eshelman, Ella Pate, and Gertrude Nelson; and granddaughter, Courtney Edson.

 

Wesley Fletcher Bush

Mr. Wesley Fletcher Bush, 72, of River Falls, passed away Thurs., June 2, 2016, in Crestview, Fla.

Funeral services were held Mon., June 6, from Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Wayne Northey officiating. Interment followed in River Falls Cemetery. Visitation was Sunday at Foreman Funeral Home.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Linda Bush of River Falls; his children, Damon (Cora) Bush, of River Falls and Susan Lewis of Andalusia; three grandchildren, Haley Lewis, Emiley Faith Bush, Gavin Bush; two brothers, Jerry (Rose) Bush, David (Janet) Bush of Preston, Ga.; a cousin, Helen Sellars of Columbus, Ga.; and nieces and nephews, Jonathan (Trisha) Bush, Christopher (Katrina) Bush, and Melissa Wilkins.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Oliver F. and Mary Bush, and a brother, Dr. Oliver Bush, Jr.

Mrs. Cathy Douglas, age 50, of Andalusia passed away Tues., June 7, 2016, at Andalusia Memorial.
