BBQ tickets are still available for this weekend’s “Bubba’s Block Party,” set for Springdale.

Charles “Bubba” Bailey spent more than 34 years as a member of the Andalusia Police Department. He retired as a lieutenant in March 2014.

Bailey was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. All funds raised at the event will be donated to assist with his medical expenses.

The fundraiser is set for 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. this Sat., June 11.

BBQ Plates or Sandwiches are being pre-sold by Andalusia Police Department employees. Plate cost is $10; Sandwiches $8, both include sides and a dessert.

The Burning Bush Family will open the evening with a few of their favorite selections, and the Krooked Kilts will perform. Donations in place of admission will be accepted.

A bake sale is planned for Saturday, as well as other opportunities to help the beloved former cop.
