Alabama Speaker of the House Mike Hubbard was found guilty Friday on 12 of 23 felony ethics charges against him.

A Lee County jury deliberated more than seven hours and into the night Friday before returning the verdict. The trial lasted 13 days.

Three of the charges against Hubbard stemmed from his $12,000 per month contract with Southeast Alabama Gas District, headquartered in Andalusia. He was found not guilty of those charges.

Sentencing is set for July 8. Hubbard faces 2 to 20 years in prison on each charge and a maximum $30,000 fine.
