Radio personality Rick Burgess will be the keynote speaker at the second annual Iron Works Men’s Ministry Men’s Conference in August.

Mark Perry of the ministry said that Burgess will speak Friday night and Saturday during a couple of different sessions.

Burgess is famous for his nationally-syndicated radio talk show with Bill “Bubba” Bussey.

“He speaks for himself in this area,” Perry said.

Additionally, Evangelist Scott Dawson will be on hand.

“He’s had some showing in this area before and does a lot of youth stuff,” Perry said. “He’ll kind of be the emcee.

Michael Adler will be the worship leader. He hails from Shades Mountain Baptist Church and will bring a band, Perry said.

“What I’ll say about these three guys is they are friends,” he said. “That brings a dynamic to the event. They can gel together. They know each other.”

The event will be Fri., Aug. 5, and Sat., Aug. 6, at the Covington Center Arena.

Tickets are on sale now.

“One thing we did last year – we did tailgating,” Perry said. “The guys gathered up in the outdoor arena at 5 p.m. They brought their grills and we will be doing that again on the Friday night. So, bring your guys. It’s a great time to hang out.”

Last year, Perry said they sold 900-1,000 tickets. This year, they want a sold out crowd, which means they need to sell 2,500 tickets.

The event kicks off at 6:30 p.m., on Friday and 9 a.m. on Saturday.

Tickets are $25.
