The Covington County Children’s Policy Council Coalition is looking for organizations to share their accomplishments.

“Our annual Children’s Policy Council needs assessment is due July 1,” said Jessie Stephens of the organization. “This needs assessment will be reviewed on the state level by the Alabama Department of Early Childhood Education, along with other state officials.”

Examples of what the CCCPCC is looking for include:

• 150 Peer Helpers in Covington County participated in a drug prevention training by a certified counselor;

• Opp Mizell Memorial Hospital sponsors a six-week shadowing program for youth interested in working in the medical field.

“Really any accomplishment will do that relates to youth and or drug education and prevention,” she said.
