Andy 12U picks up big win

The Andalusia Bulldogs 12U All-Stars picked up a big 12-7 victory over Zion Chapel in the opening round of the Dixie Youth baseball district tournament.
Andalusia jumped on top 1-0 when Griffin Kennedy scored on passed ball in the opening inning.
The Bulldogs went on top 3-0 when Joseph Turner doubled home Lucas Jordan and Gage Messick.
After Zion Chapel got one run in the bottom of the first, Andalusia answered with a pair of runs in the top of the second inning.
Jack Day and Tucker Glenn singled to start the inning.
After two quick outs, Trent Zigler roped a double into right that let Day and Glenn score to put Andalusia on top 5-1.
Garrett Blackston drove in Jordan with a single in the top of the third inning and then scored off an error to put Andalusia on top 7-1.
Ziglar got another RBI in the top of the fourth inning when he drove in Noah Widdon with a single to second.
Errors on the play allowed Britt Cotton to score for a 9-1 Bulldog lead.
Zion Chapel rallied in the bottom half of the inning and cut deep into the Andalusia lead.
At the end of the four innings of play, Andalusia was on top 9-7.
In top of the fifth inning, Jordan and started things off with a single and then moved around to third on a double from Blackston.
Messick followed with a double of his own to put Andalusia up 10-7.
Two quick strikeouts followed, but then a single from Thomas Duffy brought Blackston and Messick around to score to give Andalusia a 12-7 victory.
Jordan finished the night 2-for-2 with three runs scored.
Blackston finished 2-for-3 with one RBI and two runs scored.
Widdon finished with two hitsĀ and one run scored.
Ziglar had a big night at the plate for Andalusia going 2-for-2 with three RBIs.
Turner and Duffy each finished the game with 1 hits and two RBIs.
Jack Day picked up the win on the mound giving up 1 hit and unearned run in three innings of work.
Day struck out two batters and walked just one.
Andalusia was supposed to play Troy on Friday night, but weather pushed the game back until today. As of publication, no time had been announced.
