The Lower Alabama Arts Coalition’s The Gallery will soon have a noon home.

Sheila Rhea of the Gallery confirmed Friday that the gallery would move across the street to the former Aubergine’s location on East Three Notch Street in downtown Andalusia.

“We will be closing The Gallery the last week of June and possibly the first week of July to move,” she said. We expect to have a grand opening in March.”

Rhea said the new facility would give the 80 feet of gallery space.

“We needed more room,” she said.

Additionally, there is a separate area for classes that will allow for more artistic opportunities, she said.

“This will make us be able to branch out and do some things we have had to say no to in the past,” she said. “This is very exciting.”

Rhea said parents who have signed their children up for the summer arts and science camp shouldn’t worry, though. The Gallery will be up and running in time for the camp.

However, they are postponing the juried art show until a later date, which has not been determined.
