The Andalusia Bulldogs 12U Dixie baseball All-Stars found themselves on the short end of 16-1 ball game against Troy on Saturday afternoon at Johnson Park in the Dixie 12U District 9 tournament.

Gage Messick was the first Andalusia batter to reach base when he was plunked to start the top of second.

Troy took a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the second when a run came around to score on fielder’s choice.0621-spt-baseball

Griffin Kennedy drew a two-out walk for Andalusia in the top of third inning, and later came around to score on a passed ball to make the score 10-1.

Troy ended the game via mercy rule in the bottom of the third inning.

Nelson delivered the final blow with a three-run home run over the fence in center to give Troy a 16-1 victory.

Nelson finished the game 3-for-3 with three home runs and eight RBIs. Through three tournament games, Nelson has five home runs for Troy.
