South Central Alabama Mental Health held a summer water fun day for the participants of its summer program.

“That was the finale to our summer program,” said SCAMH spokesperson Staci Wilson. “From June 6 until (Friday) we held the program, where kids learned to not bully, self-esteem and different things like that.”

Wilson said the group of 65 kids from throughout four counties with 20 from Covington County also took field trips.

“Friday we were celebrating the end,” she said. “We had water slides, popcorn and snow cones and grilled hamburgers.”

Wilson said SCAMH will hold a back-to-school program July 25 through Aug. 5.

“Anyone who is interested can call our office to get more information about the program,” she said. “Or they can call to enroll. It’s for children ages 6-18.”

Wilson said those who are not already clients of SCAMH will have to fill out an enrollment packet.

“There is no fee for it,” she said.
