The City of Opp agreed this week to apply for a nearly $500,000 grant for sewer drainage improvements.

If received, the grant money would go for sewer system improvements on Barnes Street in District 4.

The city will ante up $50,000 for the project for its matching portion for a grant total $444,793, hopefully to come from Community Development Block Grant funding.

The city hopes to hear back from the grant process within 120 days.
