A single-vehicle crash at 3:25 a.m. on Mon.,  July 4, claimed one life and injured another.

Hunter Kyle Gaston, 19, of McKenzie was killed when the 2001 Ford F-150 he was driving left the roadway and overturned. Gaston, who was not using a seat belt, was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene by Butler County Coroner Wayne Garlock.

The passenger of the Ford was transported to a local hospital for treatment of their injuries. The crash occurred on Butler County 45 (McKenzie Grade Road) six miles east of McKenzie .

Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
