The Rev. Dr. Cynthia Howard, chairman of Andalusia Health’s Board of Trustees, was recently honored with the prestigious LifePoint Health® Board Leadership Award. This award is presented annually to a board leader at one of LifePoint’s 72 facilities across the nation who exemplifies the company’s “High Five Guiding Principles,” which focus on:
• delivering high-quality patient care;
• supporting physicians;
• creating excellent workplaces for our employees;
• taking a leadership role in our communities; and
• ensuring fiscal responsibility.
“Our board members play a vital role in representing the needs of their communities and are integral to helping advance our mission of Making Communities Healthier,” said Victor Giovanetti, FACHE, president of LifePoint Health’s Western Group, of which Andalusia Health is a part.
Howard, who is rector of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, has served on the Andalusia Health Board of Trustees since 2012. She quickly established herself as a highly engaged, collaborative and approachable leader, Andalusia Health CEO John Yanes said.
Yanes added that her decisive leadership approach has been instrumental in guiding Andalusia Health through challenging periods and important decisions, such as the hospital’s recent name change.
“Rev. Howard continuously goes above and beyond to make sure that the hospital and the community have the resources and support they need to thrive,” Yanes said.
“Her visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to serving others are inspiring and a driving force in the hospital’s ability to continuously improve the overall health and well-being of this community.”
