Mollie Jae and Maggie Ruth Wiggins wanted to earn a few extra dollars, so they decided to open up their own lemonade and cookie stand at their grandparents’ house in Meadowbrook on Friday.

“I just wanted to make little money,” Maggie Ruth said. “We couldn’t do it at our house so we came here.”

Her mother, Kristen Wells Wiggins, said it was something Maggie has been asking to do.

“She wanted to make a little extra money and she had been asking me do this all summer,” her mother said. “We live out in the country and couldn’t do it there because not too many people come by. So today I brought them to their Meme and Papa’s house in town.”

As customers came and gobbled up the cookies, the girls would send mom back inside to bake more.

“It’s been fun,” Maggie Ruth said. “Maybe later in the day more people will start coming. Mom put it on Facebook and a few have come after seeing it on there.”

The girls are the daughters of Kristen and Russell Wiggins.
