Board members should:

• have an interest in serving the elderly and disabled;

• time to devote to the organization;

• a willingness to serve as an ambassador and advocate of the agency through a network of relationships and legislative contacts;

• business or organizational competency;

• understanding of the role of governance;

• experience in leading people, projects, programs or companies;

• expertise in a professional area such as legal, accounting, human resources, fund raising, advocacy, education, health care, marketing, business, or public policy.

Anyone interested in representing the county on this board is asked to contact a county commissioner, or the county administrator, Karen Lawson, at 428-2610.
