The Florala City Council meeting was cancelled yesterday after the death of Mayor Robert Williamson’s mother, Carol Williamson.

Mrs. Williamson had been battling glioblastoma for five years.

Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, 2 pm, with visitation an hour before at Brackney Funeral Home in Crestview.

The council meeting will not be rescheduled. The next regular council meeting is Mon., July 25.
