Robert Calvin Bush

Mr. Robert Calvin Bush, 91, of Andalusia, passed away Tuesday July 19, 2016 at his residence.

Funeral services will be at 1 PM Saturday July 23rd at the First Baptist Church Chapel with Dr. Fred Karthaus officiating, interment will follow in Andalusia Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be at 12 noon Saturday at the First Baptist Church Chapel.

He is survived by his daughters and son-in-law, Lynne Bush of Andalusia and Donna and Tommy Taylor of Cleveland, MS; two sons and daughters-in-law, Bob and Beverly Bush and Phil and Julie Bush of Andalusia; six grandchildren, Tracy Marie Gundy, Robert Davis Buescher, Kyle Moore Buescher, Robert Conrad Bush, Courtney Lynne Bush, and Robert Coleman Bush; six great grandchildren, two brothers and sisters-in-law, Freddie and Ruth Bush of Eufaula, AL and Eddie and Sara Bush of Anniston, AL

Jane Sightler

Ethel Jane Gillis Pebworth Sightler, 85, formerly of Andalusia, passed away at her home in Rainsville, Ala., on July 16, 2016.

Graveside services were held Tues., July 19, at Weavers Cemetery, Brewton, Ala., with the Rev. Tim Trent officiating, and music by Dottie Pippin Castleberry. Presley-Fluker Funeral Home was entrusted with arrangements.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, H.E. (“Peb”) Pebworth and George Travis Sightler, as well as six brothers and two sisters.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Randy (Jacque) Pebworth of Milton, Fla., and Debra Pebworth (Richard) Miller of Rainsville; eight grandchildren, Jonathan Pebworth, Lauren Pebworth Lawson, Beth Pebworth (Kevin) Coving, Courtney Coleman (Paul) Vanover, Meg Coleman (Patrick Sizemore), Sammi Lewis, Lexie Lewis, and Timmy Lewis; and five great-grandchildren.

Remembrances may be made to First United Methodist Church of Andalusia, the Alabama Kidney Foundation, Hospice and Home Health Fund of Alabama, or the charity of your choice.

 

Irene Helmick

Mrs. Irene Helmick, age 84, of Andalusia, passed away Sun., July 17, 2016, at her residence. Mrs. Helmick was preceded in death by her daughter, Harriet Philyaw, and her parents, Walter Hasiak and Eva Smola Hasiak.

Services will be held 5 p.m., Sat., July 23, 2016, at West Highland Assembly of God with the Rev. Eddie Gossett officiating and Keahey Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service at the church.

Survivors include her sons, Donald Ray Hasiak of California. Ervin Glenn Helmick III of Ponce de Leon, Fla., Harry Guy Helmick of Hickory, N .C.; and daughter, Karen Irene Stone of Columbia, Tenn., and Carol Ann Casteel of Louisiana; sisters, Loretta Everett and Nora Parker, both of Michigan; 18 grandchildren and 26 great- grandchildren.
