The fountain at city hall is blue in support of local law enforcement.

“I talked to the mayor a couple of days ago – Monday or Tuesday – about turning it blue,” Andalusia Police Chief Paul Hudson said. “They had done it in Enterprise and Opp. It’s just for recognition for the fallen officers.”  IMG_2342

Additionally, Triple H Specialty is working with Ricky Wiggins from the city, who is working to put some blue LED lights at city hall to help light up the fountain at night.

In another movement to show support for law enforcement, The local Fraternal Order of Police is hoping the Covington County Commission will allow them to turn the courthouse blue.

FOP’s Greg Jackson said the FOP has the money to put the lights up to illuminate the courthouse.

“We just want to show support to for our brothers in blue,” he said.

Jackson said he had spoken with some of the commissioners and they are in support.
