A local pair was jailed for meth and marijuana Wednesday morning.

Opp Police Chief Mike McDonald said that at approximately 2:21 a.m., an OPD C-shift officer was conducting routine patrol in the area of U.S. Highway 84 East and Old Elba Road, when he stopped a 2005 Chevrolet Cavalier for a traffic violation on Old Elba Road.

McDonald said a subsequent investigation by officers resulted in the arrest of Jason George Millay, 42, of Kinston and Chloe Lynn Baker, 20, of Opp, for possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Both were remanded to the Covington County Jail.
