The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) and the Coffee County Sheriff’s Department are investigating the death of a Coffee County Jail inmate.
According to a press release from the sheriff’s department, Nicholas Robertson, 48, of Enterprise, was rushed by ambulance from the jail to Medical Center Enterprise, where he later was pronounced dead from what appeared to be natural causes.
Officials said no foul play is suspected. However, they said an autopsy has been ordered to determine the exact cause of death.
Robertson was booked into the Coffee County Jail on Thurs., July 28, for multiple felony and misdemeanor charges, according to officials.
The investigation is ongoing.
