Andalusia’s Lady Bulldog softball team will hold a golf tournament at Evans Barnes Golf Course on August 13 to help raise money for the season.

“There are a lot of cost that pile up as the season goes,” Lady Bulldog head coach Anthony Mikel said. “This helps us pay for things like travel, food, equipment and even helping us to build our new field.”

The tournament will begin at 8 a.m., and will be a two-man scramble.

Teams will be flighted after playing nine holes, and the winners will be determined from the second nine holes.

“It’s always a really great time,” Mikel said. “Last year, we had 22 teams and that was our biggest year ever. We would love to have anybody and everybody come out and join us. It’s a great chance to meet the girls and just hang out playing golf with some buddies.”

Cost of the tournament is $50 per player. Players will be served breakfast, lunch and have chances to win door prizes.

Anyone interested in playing or being a sponsor, can contact Mikel at 343-8384.

Teams can sign up the day of the tournament, but sponsors will need to do so by Wednesday, Aug. 10.
