Former Andalusia High School graduates took the field Friday night following “Meet the Bulldogs” and thrilled the crowd in the alumni vs. alumni football game at Andalusia High School stadium.

Jody Jackson (1992 graduate) stole the show in the second half of the game on Friday night, and earned MVP honors for his performance.

Jody Jackson had three catches for 30 yards and one interception for the White team.

The White team came blazing out the gate with 2013 graduate Jalen Cross leading the way at quarterback.

Cross connected with 2008 graduate Michael Berry on touchdown pass to put the White team on top 6-0.

The Red team took over at midfield following the score, but the defense for the White team forced a turnover on downs.

Just before halftime, the White team appeared to be driving for another score, but an interception from Jametrelle Lacey gave the Red team back the ball.

The Red team couldn’t score before halftime, and the White team led 6-0 heading into the second half.

“I feel great,” 1973 graduate Dr. Bob Bush said. “Although, I did drop two touchdown passes.”

Other players weren’t feeling as good as Bush was.

“I’m tired,” Lacey said. “Kids don’t smoke cigarettes.”

The Red team took over to start the second half, but an interception in the end zone by 2013 graduate Keontya Jackson gave the back to the White team.

The White team got a big run from Berry on the following drive, and then Jody Jackson made grabbed and skirted up the middle for a big gain.

Cross then connected with Keontya Jackson in the end zone to give the White team a 12-0 lead.

The Red team came scraping back when 2009 graduate Leslie James found 2015 graduate Deontae Maye on deep pass in the end zone. The Red team converted the two-point conversion, but trail 12-8 with two minutes to play.

Jody Jackson made an acrobatic catch to start the White team’s next drive, but James picked off a pass a few plays later to give the Red team the ball back with one minute remaining.

They didn’t have the ball long, as James’s first pass on the next drive was intercepted by diving Jody Jackson to seal the deal and give the White team a 12-8 victory.
