Seventy-five students in grades first through 12th auditioned for Missoula Children’s Theatre’s “Sleeping Beauty” yesterday.
Covington Arts Council Director Paula Harr welcome Taylor Anne and Jazz, directors of this year’s play.
“Last year was the most we’ve had in 10 years,” Harr said. “We usually have between 65 to 80 students turn out. I think this is the most well-behaved group we’ve had. I was very pleased with the turnout, especially since the county schools started back Monday and may not have had much notice.”
Based in Missoula, Mont., the MCT sends professional actor/directors to communities to audition and casts 50 to 60 local school children in a full-length, original musical production.
The public performance is set for 6 p.m. on Fri., Aug. 19, at the Dixon Center on the Andalusia campus of LBW.
