Consigners needed for annual Little Lambs’ sale

Attention moms, grandmothers and surrogate moms, it’s time to pull out that too-small fall and winter apparel for the annual fall Little Lambs consignment sale.

The benefit of the event is two-fold – moms get a clean closet while earning a little extra money from selling those items at the upcoming sale.

Organizer Shirley Tew said the event will again be a Friday night and Saturday morning sale.

The sale will be held Friday night, Sept. 9, from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m., and Sat., Sept. 10, from 8 a.m. until noon at the Kiwanis Building, on the Hwy. 55 bypass.

“We would like to welcome you to participate,” she said. “This is a consignment sale for your children’s used clothing, toys, books, shoes and furniture. A group of Christian women began this sale as an opportunity to raise money for mission projects.”

The money will be split with 75 percent going back to the seller and 25 percent donated to a local charity.

The deadline to become a seller is Fri., Sept. 2.

“To participate in this consignment sale, sellers must pay a $12 registration fee and commit to work a three-hour shift before, during or after the sale,” she said. “Your registration fee will be deducted from the total amount sold.”

As an added bonus, consigners are allowed to shop prior to the public sale on Friday.

“Your presence is not required on the day of the sale,” she said. “If you are interested in becoming a seller, we ask that you respond as quickly as possible by calling to get a seller number and to schedule your three-hour work shift.”

In order to obtain a seller’s number, call Angi Hicks at 892-2841.

“Please leave a message if she is not available to answer and she will contact you as soon as possible,” Tew said. “If you were a seller in the spring sale, you will keep your same seller number, but still need to call or text Angi to register for the fall sale.”

Tew said that all sellers, both previous and new, will need to pick up a seller packet at Blackston Quality Eye Care, First Baptist Church of Andalusia or South Alabama Pediatrics in Opp.

Clothes will be received Thurs., Sept. 8, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m., and Fri., Sept. 9, from 8:30 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Sellers should also plan to pick up unsold clothes on Sat., Sept. 10, from 1:30 p.m., until 2 p.m.

Each seller is allowed to sell no less than 25 items and no more than 250 items.
