Andalusia voters in city council District 2 and District 3 overwhelmingly returned incumbents to office.
In District 2, Kennith Mount was elected to a third consecutive term, defeating challenger Walter “Buster” Boyd, 111 to 2.
In District 3, Hazel Griffin also was elected to a third consecutive term, defeating challenger Eddie Lewis, known also locally as Eddie Knight, 95 to 9.
Councilman Mount said he appreciated the support of his constituents.
“I think we all want to see Andalusia grow, and continue the path we’re on,” he said.
Councilwoman Griffin said she could not thank her supporters enough
“I call them my customers,” she said. “And I’m going to spend four more years taking care of them. They all have my personal number, and I want them to use it.
“I would really like for people to know what a special group we have working together for Andalusia,” she said. “The council, mayor and the employees all want what is best for the city.”
