Beverly Pace, author of “Song of Alabama,” will present a program to the Covington Historical Society at 6:30 tonight, Thurs., Aug. 25, at the Charles Dixon Memorial Room of the Andalusia Public Library.

Pace’s book is an historical fiction novel. Her program will include information about the German POWs who were detained in Andalusia during World War II and who worked for various farming families of Covington County.

These families are invited to attend and share stories of this time in history with pictures, remembrances, and letters. Pace, a minister’s daughter who lived in Andalusia until the age of 10, attended Church Street School. She is related to the Stokes and Thomasson families, and will be autographing her books for those interested.
