There were a lot of golfers on hand on Monday at the Andalusia Country Club for the 11th Annual Chamber of Commerce Golf Classic.

Huhtamaki Team one turned in a score of 60 to take the top spot in the Top Flight Division, and Hardee’s team shot a 56 to win the Second Flight.

CCB and Darby’s tied for second in the Top Flight with a score of 61. Covington Electric Team two shot a 66 to finish second in the Second Flight.

The Chamber of Commerce Golf Classic is the Chamber’s main fundraising event of the year, and helps then fund the rest of the projects during the year, including “July Jamz.”

“We have had more golfers in the tournament this year than we have ever had before,” Duffy said. “We also have a lot of great sponsors and more help from the committee than ever before. It’s been really good this year.”

Golfers began teeing off at 8 a.m., for the morning group, and the afternoon group teed off at 1 p.m.

“Everyone appeared to have a good time at the tournament,” Duffy said. “This has been one of the best turnouts, if not the best turnout, that we have ever had for this.”

After the morning group finished up and before the afternoon group started, LifeFlight air ambulance services used on of its helicopters to perform a ball drop. Golfers paid for a numbered ball, and prizes where handed out for the balls closest to the hole.
