“This is a really young group this year,” Andalusia junior varsity head coach Evan Soles said. “It’s made up of mostly freshman, but the have made a ton of progress over the summer.

Andalusia started the night strong with a 25-17 victory over Kinston, but came up just short in the next the two matches.

Chloe Mikel, Raygen Clark, Anna Tomberlin and Emily German each had at least one ace in the opening match.

In the second game, Andalusia fell behind early, fought back late but came up just short in a 25-19 defeat.

Andalusia battled in the final game, but came up just shy to Kinston in a 17-15 loss.

“We still have some things we need to work on,” Soles said. “I did see a lot of things that I was encouraged by. This is a young group, and they are going to continue to get better
