Ms. Denise Pierce of Montgomery is pleased to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of her daughter, Lauren Elizabeth Pierce, to Brandon Cory Smith, son of Ronnie and Lynn Capps of Andalusia, and Roy and Tammy Smith of Georgiana.

The bride-elect is also the daughter of the late Randy Pierce of Montgomery. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Huggins of Grove Hill, Ala., and Mr. and Mrs. Leon Pierce of Wetumpka.

Lauren is a 2012 graduate of Alabama Christian Academy and a 2016 graduate of Auburn University – Montgomery, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing. She is employed with East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika as a registered nurse.

The prospective groom is the grandson of the late B. G. (Junior) and Jane Parrish of Andalusia, Judy Capps and the late Bill Capps of River Falls, and Larry and Becky Smith of McKenzie. Cory is a 2006 graduate of Andalusia High School and a 2010 graduate of Troy University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. He is employed with the Alabama Board of Pardons and Paroles.

The wedding will take place Sat., Jan. 7, 2017, at Landmark Church of Christ in Montgomery, Alabama.
