Approximately nine hours after hitting the highway Tuesday morning, this almost-100-year-old house was delivered to its new location on Gantt Lake.

The home, which has stood on East Three Notch Street since then 1920s, was once known as the Jordan place. Most recently, it has been part of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, and has been known as the Frog House.

Katherine and Tim Dantz purchased it from the church and had it moved north. It was pulled into East Three Notch around 10 a.m., paused at the bypass for the traffic lights to be lifted, then moved on.

Mrs. Dantz said it arrived at its new home seven miles away at approximately 7:15 p.m.

Contractors had removed the porches and chimneys for the move, and Brownie Woodall will now put it back together. Mrs. Dantz said the front porch will be extended, and will overlook the lake. The kitchen will be expanded, and a new entryway will be added.
