Montel Lee in running for D3 “Hero” of the Week

Former Andalusia High School Bulldog Montel Lee had a big game on Saturday in Ferrum’s 42-20 win over Hampden-Sydney, and is currently in the running for Division III defensive “Hero of the Week.”
The junior defensive lineman has hammered the competition since joining Ferrum.
In the win over Hampden-Sydney, Lee set the school record for sacks in a game, and also became the school’s career sack leader at 25 in three seasons.
Lee had 4 sacks against Hampden-Sydney and one forced fumble.
In just three games this season, Lee has an astounding 7.5 sacks, 10 tackles for a loss and two forced fumbles.
The USA South named Lee Defensive Player of the Week for his performance against Hampden-Sydney.
Lee continues to rack up honors and awards in his three years at Ferrum.
As a freshman, Lee was named USA South Rookie of the Year, first-team USA South All-Conference team, VaSID Rookie of the Year, VaSID first-team All-State and D3football.com All-South second team.
Last season he again earned honors for first- team USA South All-Conference and VaSID first-team All-State.
