OPD finds stolen vehicle

A Pensacola man is behind bars after he allegedly stole a vehicle from Luverne.
Opp Police Chief Mike McDonald said that at around 11:10 a.m., Wednesday, OPD B-shift officers responded to the Kountry Kitchen on West Cummings Avenue in reference to a suspicious person. Officers made contact with and detained Jimmy Tidwell, 32.
During the investigation, officers determined that the 2011 Buick Tidwell was driving had been stolen from Luverne within the last 12 hours.
They also located a ring, laptop, and Sumsung tablet, all of which appeared to have been stolen.
He was charged with receiving stolen property by the city of Opp.
Charges are pending in Crenshaw County, as well.
“Good job by the folks at Kountry Kitchen,” McDonald sai. “They teamed with the OPD and we took a bad guy off the streets and recovered a stolen vehicle so that it could be returned to its rightful owner. If you see something, say something.”
