When Jason Mott recently went to his 20-year reunion at Andalusia High School, he learned a classmate of his had been diagnosed with cancer, and decided to step up and help.

“It’s for Kim Ryland Patterson,” he said. “I wasn’t aware she had been diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer until I saw the post last week.”

Mott said he had recently started a painting and with all the homecoming festivities going on, his painting began to lean toward a homecoming direction.

“I had recently sold a similar painting and thought this one might sell good, so I’m auctioning it and 100 percent will go to Kim for medical expenses,” he said.

The painting is called “Homecoming,” and is a 19-inch by 28 inch acrylic on wood

Mott said he didn’t want personal attention from this endeavor.

The painting is listed on ebay.

There are about two days left on the auction.
