The Opp Police Department is commending a city of Opp employee for returning valuable property.
According to OPD Chief Mike McDonald, employee Jimmy Murphy came to the OPD Thursday and turned in a citizen’s wallet to McDonald.
The wallet contained various credit cards, and  $1,000 cash.
“Jimmy found this wallet laying in the road while he was working,” McDonald said. “We want to recognize Jimmy for his high degree of honesty and rapidly turning the wallet into the police department so that the owner could have their property returned to them.”
