Pedestrian airlifted after accident; info on driver sought

A pedestrian was injured and airlifted from the scene in the Carolina community Wednesday night, and police are looking for the motorist involved after he or she fled the scene.

Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Spokesperson Cpl. Jesse Thornton, who represents the state troopers. said that there was a vehicle versus pedestrian accident on County Road 31, which is Rockhole Bridge Road, around 11:30 p.m.

“The vehicle left the scene and the pedestrian was injured in the crash,” he said.

Thornton said the pedestrian was identified as Clifton Stanley.
