The Andalusia Bulldogs (6-1) are coming off a big shutout win over then No. 10-ranked Thomasville, and now they prepare for another tough Class 4A, Region 1 region game against the Satsuma Gators (4-2).

“They are going to be a tough team,” Andalusia head coach Trent Taylor said. “We are going to have to go in playing our game.”

Last week, the Bulldogs picked up their second shutout of the season with a 37-0 victory over Thomasville.

“Last week was probably the most complete game we have had since I’ve been here,” Taylor said. “I was worried that we wouldn’t respond well after an emotional win in Opp, but I felt like we were just the opposite. We have a good group of seniors that know what they are playing for.”

The Bulldogs’ defense has been outstanding this season, and hasn’t allowed an opponent to score more than 14 points in single game. In four games this season, the defense has allowed 6 points of less.

This season, the Bulldogs are out scoring their opponents 244-53.

Andalusia’s offense has been nearly as fine tuned as the defense as they have scored at least 25 points in six-of-seven games.

Junior quarterback Ethan Wilson has passed for 1,093 yards and 10 touchdowns. On the ground, Wilson has added another 461 yards and four touchdowns.

Senior running back Zack Woods is Bulldogs’ leading rusher with 494 yards and five touchdowns.

Senior Derrick McQueen leads the receiving corps with 453 yards and three touchdowns.

Junior B.J. Anderson has added 287 yards and three touchdowns.

Kickoff between the Bulldogs and the Gators will be 7 p.m., Friday in Andalusia.
