Andy karate picks up top finishes

Recently, four members of Andalusia Isshinryu Karate traveled to Montgomery to compete in the USYKA Kumite Challenge Karate Tournament, and came away with several strong finishes.

Andalusia Isshinryu Karate has continued to have strong performances from the school’s students.

The school picked up four first place finishes while in Montgomery.

The tournament was a Kumite (fighting) only tournament and competitors could compete in point and/or full contact fighting for their age and belt rank.

Landon Caldwell had a big day with first place finishes in brown belt point fighting and brown belt full contact.

Phillip Martin brought home first place in black belt men’s point fighting.

Hannah Martin finished second place in black belt women’s point fighting.

Taj Patel grabbed a pair of third place finishes in black belt point fighting and black belt full contanct.

Andalusia Isshinryr Karate offers instruction in traditional Okinawan Karate for the entire family.
