The No. 5-ranked Opp Bobcats ( 6-1) look to clinch home field advantage for round one of the playoffs when they host Geneva (3-4) Friday night at Channell-Lee Stadium in Opp.

“The kids know what’s ahead of us,” Opp head football coach Brent Hill said. “If we win this game, that gives us home field in the first round of playoffs because we will finish either one or two in the region.”

Hill said that Geneva has been up and down this season, but expects they will be ready when they take on his Bobcats.

“They have been up and down this year,” Hill said. “They will lose a game and then turn around and beat a team like Straughn, and it kind of catches you off guard. When they (Geneva) come ready to play, they can be tough to deal with. I expect them to bring their ‘A’ game against us on Friday.”

Starting off strong is something Hill said the Bobcats must do.

“The past few weeks I’ve felt like we have started a little slow and then explode later in the game,” Hill said. “I want to see us come out strong.”

On defense, Hill said the Bobcats must get Geneva in long situations.

“We have to get them into second and third-and-long situations,” Hill said. “They are run dominate team and we want to put them into passing situations.”
