Locals honored at annual disabilities luncheon

Local individuals, businesses and organizations were honored Thursday at a luncheon for their parts in helping promote the employment of people with disabilities.
The 23rd Annual Covington County Committee on Employment of People with Disabilities luncheon was held at the Shaw Recreational Building.
The Andalusia Area Chamber of Commerce was honored with the partnership award.

Candi Wiggins, who works in the Covington County School system, was named the educator of the year.

Walmart was named large business employer of the year for their willingness to help people with disabilities in the community.

Irene Butler won the advocate of the year award.
