Mr. Irving “Don” Bullard, age 82, and his wife, Mrs. Mary Ellen Bullard, age 78, both of Opp, passed away Fri., Oct. 28, 2016, from injuries sustained in a vehicle accident.

Funeral services were held Mon., Oct. 31, 2016, at Northern Heights Baptist Church in Opp. The Rev. Doyle Prescott and Johnathan Jones officiated. Burial followed in Babbie Baptist Church cemetery. Keahey Funeral Home of Andalusia was entrusted with arrangements.

Mr. Bullard was the son of the late John Henry and Ethel Bunie (Brown) Bullard. He was preceded in death by his brothers, James Herchel Bullard and Junior Bullard; and sisters, Hazel (Albert) Conway and Juanita (Homer) Smith.

Mrs. Bullard was the daughter of the late Foster English and Bertha Mae (Johnson) English.

Left to cherish their memory are their children, Marvin (Laura) Bullard of Prattville; John (Melissa) Bullard of Andalusia; Cathy (Terry) Hussey of Babbie; and Benita Kay (Brady Patrick) Thomasino of Enterprise; her sister, Sue (Pat) Whitehead; his sister, Shirley (Lamar) Steed of Brundidge; sisters-in-law, Mildred Bullard of Andalusia and Ruth Bullard of Cumming, Ga.; nine grandchildren, and 12 great- grandchildren.

On Sept. 22nd, the Bullards celebrated 62 years of marriage. They had a big celebration for their 60th wedding anniversary at Lake Jackson park. They enjoyed spending time with their church friends and especially their grand and great-grand “babies.” Mr. Bullard liked working in his yard and Mrs. Bullard liked to crochet. She had helped make many prayer quilts with her church group. Their love for each other, their friends, family, church and God was evident every day in their lives.
