Red Cross to offer training Nov. 30th

South Alabama Red Cross, which serves 11 counties, needs Disaster Services volunteers. The organization needs volunteers in every county to help in the areas of readiness, response, and recovery.
Those interested in getting involved should:
- Apply on RedCross.org by clicking on Volunteer, and choose the option labeled “Become a Volunteer.”
- Come to our local training session at PowerSouth Energy Cooperative, located at 2027 3 Notch Street, Andalusia, AL 36421 on Nov. 30, 2016: Participants are asked to pre-register by Nov. 25, 2016, which will allow the Red Cross to have enough training material for everyone attending this training day.

Training includes:
- 8 a.m. – Recovery Services: An Overview, approximately 45 minutes
- 9 a.m. – Casework and Recovery Planning Fundamentals, 1 hour 30 minutes
- 11 a.m. – Casework and Recovery Planning Management, 1 hour
- 12 p.m. – Lunch break, 1 hour
- 1 p.m. – Direct Client Assistance Fundamentals Course, approximately 30 minutes
- 2 p.m. – Disaster Action Team (DAT) Induction, 1 hour, 30 minutes
