The Andalusia Lady Bulldogs were loaded with underclassman, but that didn’t stop them from making a trip to state volleyball tournament in Birmingham.
“I was extremely proud of what these girls accomplished this year,” Andalusia head volleyball coach Angie Grimes said. “All of these girls worked extremely hard to improve and it really showed this year.”
The Lady Bulldogs do lose two seniors that contributed major time this year.
“Losing Haley Harper and Rachel Dayton is a going to be a big hit for us,” Grimes said. “Harper is one of those players that goes after everything hit. I’ve had numerous coaches come up to after games and tell me that wish they had a player like her. Rachel is a girl that excels at everything she does. She is at the top of her class and she has really been a huge part of our team’s success.”
With most of the starters returning, Grimes said she is ready for next year.
“I’m so excited about the future of this program,” Grimes said. “We have a lot of girls coming back that are hungry to keep improving.”
