Florala Police Chief Sonny Bedsole said no trauma was found in the autopsy of a local man who was found floating in a pond in the city limits Sunday.

Bedsole said that they are still waiting on toxicology reports to see if that gives them any answers.

“It could take at least three weeks to get those reports back,” he said.

Bedsole told the Star-News Monday that the department received a phone call around 10 a.m., Sunday.

“Some kids had found it and reported it to their parents on Saturday,” he said. “I guess the parents didn’t believe them at first, but the dad went down there Sunday morning and found the body.”

Police found the body of David Porter in the pond off of Third Street.
