The Andalusia Bulldogs varsity boys’ basketball team opened up the season with a big road-win over the Luverne Tigers on Tuesday night in Luverne, but fell in varsity girls’ action.

In the varsity girls’ game, the Lady Bulldogs gave Luverne a solid run, but in the end the Lady Tigers came away with a 39-35 victory over Andalusia.
The Andalusia boys’ team got some revenge for the earlier games as they dropped Luverne by a final of 63-35 in the Bulldog season-opener.
Andalusia set the tempo early in the game when Trey Wilkerson and B.J. Anderson had back-to-back thunderous dunks for the Bulldogs.
The Bulldogs continued to apply the pressure and built a 37-21 lead heading into halftime.
In the second half of the game, the Bulldogs efforts remained strong and pushed them out to 63-35 victory.
With the win, the boys’ team moves to 1-0 on the young season.

The Bulldogs will be back in action on Thursday night when they travel to Pleasant Home to take on the Eagles.
