LBW Community College’s online application for all available scholarships for the 2017-2018 academic year is now available, with a deadline of March 1, 2017.

“LBWCC offers scholarships to qualified students in various areas, such as academics, athletics, leadership, performing arts, and service. In addition, scholarships are available through the LBWCC Foundation and MacArthur Foundation,” said Heather Owen, LBWCC recruitment director and scholarship committee chair. “This one online application covers all available scholarships.”

Depending on the scholarship requested, an additional audition, portfolio submission, or interview may be required, she added.

“Applications are processed according to scholarships requested. To be considered, it is critical that applicants upload all required documentation, transcripts, and letters of recommendation in the online application.”

The College transitioned to an online-only application process several years ago, which greatly improved response times while reducing costs associated with processing, she said.

“Parents or adult students must include the estimated family contribution (EFC) obtained from the confirmation page of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) in order for the application to be complete,” said Owen.

In completing the FAFSA, applicants must include LBWCC’s school number of 008988, she added.

Additional requirements include completion of an application for admission and official transcripts from high school or college.

“Students must meet all requirements prior to consideration by a scholarship committee. After the March 1 deadline, the application will no longer be available for the 2017-2018 academic year.”
